Research
Vincent's team work on various projects around different themes, including RNA editing in cancer; single-cell, spatial and bulk transcriptomics in breast, pancreatic and thyroid cancers; digital pathology of normal and cancer tissues; and understanding the spectrum of sexual differences.
Biography
After studying computer science and cognitive science, Vincent Detours earned a PhD in biology under the supervision of Francisco Varela in 1996. His research on biomathematical modeling of the immune system was conducted at the UniversitΓ© Libre de Bruxelles, the Santa Fe Institute, and the Theoretical Biology and Biophysics Division of Los Alamos National Laboratory (the birthplace of GenBank) in New Mexico. He is currently a researcher and professor in oncology and bioinformatics at the UniversitΓ© libre de Bruxelles.
